The Sims 2 - Door Won't Close

I've looked for the answer to this glitch and I cannot find out to fix it. Once in a while, a door in one of my homes will get stuck open. The door cannot get moved, deleted, or anything because it is "still in use." This prevents other sims from going through it and I would like to know how to fix this problem aside from demolishing the whole house and starting fresh. I have tried making my Sim go through it from both sides, but its not fixing the problem. Any help would be appreciated.
