I have The Sims 2 on discs and recently got a new computer. My discs are old and won't download onto my new computer. Is there anyway I can get the downloaded version on Origin? I have paid for these games already in the past, but the disc version just won't work. I heard many people get help from Origin Support by receiving the web download version.
@paparazzi124 , the Sims 2 code giveaway ended in October 2018. EA has no plans to revive this or to update and remaster the game. They are very aware of the community's response as there are hundreds of thousands of people who have posted hundreds of threads about this issue both here and on the official Sims forums about this very issue.
You can buy an external disk drive and install the game on your computer as it will run on Windows 10, but you will need to do a few tweaks to it to get it to run properly as Sims 2 is an older game and doesn't recognize some of the newer graphics cards.
I also want to warn you that there are no official digital versions of Sims 2 available for purchase anywhere for Windows OS. The only digital version of the game for purchase is for the Mac OS at the Apple App Store.
