@Toninfinite , you should probably check your Virtual Memory within your Windows OS and increase it so it mirrors the amount of RAM you have. Not only Sims 2 has problems with this, but other games as well. You can do a Google Search on exactly how to change the settings.
Please let me know if this works for you.

@mynameissstamara , again as I said to the original poster, you should check your Virtual Memory. While your computer can run the game and has the hardware and memory to do so, increasing your Virtual Memory will make the game run more smoothly. You can Google search for instructions on how to do this. This is a problem with not only Sims 2, but other games as well.
- 6 years ago@Tremayne4260 I have the windows 10 pro 64 bit and an intel core 2 duo cpu processor (e7500 @ 2.93GHz). I also have 4 gb of ram on my computer and directx 12. I dont know whether the page file matters but i have 3075mb used and 6999mb available. My screen size is 1366 x 768 and has a recommended refresh rate of around 60. I have tried a lot of methods, even opening it in windows compatability mode but when i try to search how to make sims2 run faster, they tell me to install mods which i can not do as my computer does not do very well with mods and cc.
