@mynameissstamara , again as I said to the original poster, you should check your Virtual Memory. While your computer can run the game and has the hardware and memory to do so, increasing your Virtual Memory will make the game run more smoothly. You can Google search for instructions on how to do this. This is a problem with not only Sims 2, but other games as well.

@mynameissstamara , ok the 4GB patch for Sims 2 combines all the patches ever released for Sims 2 and its expansion and stuff packs. Since the game no longer is supported by EA, several players have combined the patches that were released for Sims 2 into one giant patch for the disk version of the game. This insures that your game is up to date and corrects many bugs and issues that were found during the initial release of the game. If you play the game through Origin, you do not need the 4GB as Origin automatically updates the game when it is installed.
NRAAS was a modder who created mods for Sims 3 which fixed many of the issues the game had. Those mods will not work for Sims 2 or 4.
In order to increase your Virtual Memory, you need to Google search specifically for "How to increase your Virtual Memory". You do not need to add Sims 2 or any other game title to find these instructions.

@mynameissstamara , are you using any mods or CC? Can you post a screenshot of what the sim looks like? Have you tried playing the game at all and are they still shinny?
