@KetieSaner , I've not heard that the M1 chip would make any kind of difference. You may want to contact Aspyr directly as they will have more updated system information. Do a Google search to find out how to contact them.
Google tells me that other users of the new Mac(Books) are having the same issue.
There was also a somewhat similar issue with The Sims 4 (game crashing soon after starting it up) that is easy to fix with changing one button in the settings.

@KetieSaner , have you tried this with Sims 2 and did it work?

So far I haven't been able to run The Sims 2 on my new MacBook.
I have opened a help request ticket with Aspyr, but so far it is still open and not resolved.

@Stargirl009 , have you registered at Aspyr.com? Not sure what button you are referring to.

Hi everyone,
I’ve just downloaded the sims 2 super collection now! I was hoping it would be in relative working order by now on the M1 macs considering Apple is most likely gonna be phasing out their intel counterparts ☹️!! I’ve emailed/opened a ticket and everything with aspyr… however I’m gonna try the terminal fixes people have mentioned previously! Does anyone else have any other tips they’ve found??
