Is there still no answer, work around or solution to this problem?? My post is going on a month old.
Yes. I choose repair as well as having it check for updates, the results were the same - doesn't work. Recently, I uninstalled it (no use having a dead game take up 12GBs of HD space). Prior to that, I tried running the game in compatiblity mode for XP. Hopefully, someone will figure out what causes this to happen or EA/Origin/Maxis will introduce an update to repair it. I have seen others post the same EP9 not working in various forums (The Sims 3 site, MTS ect) so there is definitely something happening behind the scene to cause this. Thank you for your suggestion though.
