The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection - Stuck in Low Resolution

Hi all, I am running The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection on Windows 8.1 with an AMD Radeon R9 290. When I load the game, the resolution is stuck at 800 x 600 with no option to change, and none of the adv...

    edit to add the low res could be because as the Sims 2 was made when most of us don't have the video cards we have now
