The Sims 2: Ultimate Collection won't launch

I've contacted technical support about this issue months ago and never got a response or a solution. I tried the other suggestions what to do when a game won't launch and instead takes you right back...

    @musicvibezz Please go to Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\ and delete Groups.cache and Accessory.cache files, then try launching the game.

    Let me know if that fixes it.
