The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection Won't Sart

    I only have The Sims 3 on Origin. When I heard that TS2 Ultimate Collection was free, I downloaded and installed it. I tried skipping the intro, but it just froze. The only way I could get out of it was by holding down the power button on my computer. I tried again and  this time I didn't try to skip the intro. I went through the whole thing, but when it ends, the game completely freezes. Sometimes it freezes with a bunch of tiles, and sometimes it reezes with a page that says "The Sims 2 Fun With Pets".

    I've been doing so much research on why it's doing this. Everything I find is unanswered. And all the people having this problem have Windows 8 or Windows 8.1. I have Windows 8. My sister has Windows 7 on her laptop, and it works for her. Does TS2 work on Windows 8?

    So, I had the weirdest discovery.

    Tested on a Win7 64 bit machine, this actually got it to work past the loading screen.

    Albiet kind of sh!te... While we wait for an official Origin update, this seems to help me.

    Do this to your sims Shortcut.

    Set Compatibility Mode to "Windows Vista Servce Pack 2"

    Right click on your Sims Shortcut, go to Properties. Then Go to Compadibility tab, then put "Run this program in comp mode for Vista SP2"

    For whatever reason, this loads on my system. Hope it works for you guys while Origin updates a fix for this.

    I'm having the exact same problem, stuck in the Fun With pets loading page, music and everything.

    Mine freezes right on the EA logo at the very beginning. Opening Task Manager allows me to get out of there by ending the program. It reads as "The Sims 2 Mansions and Garden Stuff"

    I'm running windows 7 64-bit Service Pack 1.

    Same here. And I noticed multiple folders in the "My Documents" area. Almost like it's trying to run multiple versions of the game.

    Same problem here.

    Neither installing on drive C: nor "starting" the game in windowed mode helps, trying to start in XP compatibility mode doesn't help either.

    EA Logo works, intro works, program crashes on "Fun with Pets" loading screen.

    Win Vista Home Premium.

    EA, you'd rather fix that one quickly ;-)
