Hi Simmers, We noticed a few threads and posts, more so recently, asking about The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection and whether it's going to make a return on Origin. Please know, there are currently no plans to sell or giveaway this game again in the foreseeable future. Our teams are dedicated to working on current and future sims additions like expansions and DLC. We wanted to say a big thanks to all for taking the time to stop by Answers HQ about this. There is definitely no harm in players continuing to leaving feedback in the Sims Forums regarding their interest for Sims 2 to be made available over EA Desktop, you're welcome to do this. Since we still see these threads occasionally, and our old thread regarding Sims 2 was quite outdated, we just wanted to reaffirm the information is still current in that there is no current plans to make the game available again digitally.

i didnt get the chance to play sims 2. but i love to play it. i played sims 3 and 4. how to attain the sims 2?

@lengsphere , I'm afraid you're several years too late to get the digital version of Sims 2 for Windows OS. The game was retired in 2018 meaning no new CD/DVD would be produced and the digital version was removed from Origin for purchase/redemption. If you had the game in your Origin library prior to the retirement, you still had your game.
The only way for Windows users to get and play the game is to have an external disk drive and to purchase from Amazon, E-Bay, thrift stores or stores that sell used games.
Please also note that EA is aware of the community wanting Sims 2 to be rereleased again, but EA/Maxis have choosen to pursue other projects at this time.

@lennymarine1112 , I'm afraid that since the game is retired, there is no way to redeem the CD keys in the EA App or Origin.

I've been trying to figure all this for months.
Years.
I only ever enjoyed
Sims 1
&
Sims 2
on Windows.
I never cared for the expansion packs, nor, any version after Sims 2, most games after that on PC & console, for that matter.
If anyone knows any way to obtain such a thing please feel free to reply to this.

Sorry to say @Cannyzz but it is not currently possible to purchase The Sims 2 from EA.

Best bet would be to look online to see if you can find a copy still for sale.

It had the disk with it, but even prior 2018 i couldn't redeem it through Origin (when it was still origin)... Anyways thank you for answering
