Can you check if the issue still persists? Ensure you have a good Internet connection and that no other processes that could interfere with The Sims 2, such as antivirus programs, are running.
Can do, I'll check it out. At least you helped confirm that I wasn't going nuts and from the things I read, that Sims 2 actually just popped back up from Origin on EA App. If the forum allows, to save from double posting (people use to really hate that) I'll just edit this post with my results. ^_^
Edited: Alright both computers still doing the thing. #1 the laptop is still unable to verify the product code and won't let me input it claiming I'm not connected to the internet. I've already checked the internet possibility because 99% of the things I do on computers require it so it's usually a given that it's working. Through the day I'll take stabs at it and see if either of them possibliy has a issue with the default virus defender stuff, but typically it'd let me know by now if that were the case on either computers. The desktop #2 still doing the unable to connect: "Your game failed to launch, unable to connect, check your connection" yadda yadda that one. Honestly it might be a thing where I just gotta wait it out til they fix the launcher more.

@LarkuTyme ,have you cleared your EA App cache? That may be part of the problem causing the computers to hang up.

Thanks, that fixed the desktop which is computer #2. #1 was fixed with that... then I did the whole windows mode thing (thought had to do that to make it run) and so the screen size I couldn't figure out how to fix because I thought the graphics doohicky tool you have to use on Sims 2 these days to work with the newer cards would have the laptop (#1) set to the correct window size... Then after that it went back to the original issue of not recognizing the product code and the clearing the cache didn't fix it the second time.
EA/Sims, they are a enigma for weird issues I'll always give them that.
