the sims 2

Hi, I wonder if i could somehow install the sims 2 on windows 10 because of the red windows that pops up about administrator permission requirements.

  • I have already figured out what the problem is. I typed in wrong code.

@rolle880 Hi, that warning pops up with any Sims 2 games released in 2008, but it is possible to bypass it using the Command Prompt.

    1. Open Command Prompt (as Administrator).

    • You can find it in your Start Menu by typing in cmd. Right-click on it, and select Run as Administrator.
    • Alternatively, you can press Win + R, which will open the Run menu. Type in cmd, and press CTRL + Shift + Enter, which will run it as Administrator.

    2. When Command Prompt opens, it should say C:\WINDOWS\system32>. Type in D: which should switch it to use your D: drive (the one your game disk is in, according to the screenshot). After you press Enter, it should say D:> in the next line.

    3. Type in AutoRun.exe, press Enter, and the installer should open. After that, you can close the Command Prompt.

You can repeat these steps with any game that gives you the Administrator error, just make sure you use the correct drive letter.

  • Now is actually the first time that I see this pop up window. I have never seen it in any other windows that is older.

@rolle880 Is the game disk still inserted into the D: drive, and not another one (in case you have more)?

  • I have already figured out what the problem is. I typed in wrong code.

  • I typed in D: and pressed enter, but it said 'the device is not ready yet'

  • I got a new pc and Im trying to install my sims 2 and  now it says that it does not recognize AutoRun.exe
