The Sims Medieval Error Code 15

Hello guys,

yesterday I bought The Sims Medieval. After 3 mission I try to save but a message say 'an error as occurred: errore code 15 check the read.me files' or something. I tried everything, I disinstalled the game, try to use 'save as..', shut down internet connection while playing bit nothing. There's no files named '.bad' in the saves folder. I tried Also to create a new game but nothing, always the same errore. Please help me.

    Thanks @rumbutter

    Hi @xFaktum,

I don't remember seeing that error on the Sims Medieval board before but it looks very similar to the error 15 listed in this Sims 3 FAQ: [FAQ] Save Errors (Error 12, 13, 15, 16)

    It says:

Error 15 occurs when you don't have enough rights to access the saves folder. Make sure you have full access to the folder your saves folder is in and it's not hidden. If nothing helps, start your game as an administrator.

Let us know if it works.

Hello, im sorry that you have been answered in 2025, and im so sorry about it...

I will tell you a small summary on what i have done to this day, and then how to fix it.

First of all, today i downloaded the Sims Medieval for the first time in probably +15 years, currently im using Windows 11, AlderLake Procesor (i7 12gen) and RTX 3050ti... Laptop. Anyway.

This is a problem that occurs not only with sims but with many other games, today I decided to explain the solution because no one has ever fixed it for some reason, and the community is abandoned, which is sad.

Windows for some reason DOESNT ALLOW SOME PROGRAMS TO BE EXECUTED OR TO RUN... For example, if you are using OBS to record your screen, AND DECIDED to END the record and SAVE IT, you cant, because WIndows Antivirus decides not to...
So I applied that same case and knowledge on the same thing and topic. If you ever try to save in Sims Medieval, and this error appears, do it a couple more of times, and then go to your Windows Defender and check your "Threat History" (IDK how to say it in English), YOU SHOULD see how surprisingly Windows has just detected a "threat" which is literally the TSM trying to save and "Write" in the Documents/EA/Save folder....

So thats the problem, the Antivirus, but you DONT HAVE TO TURN IT OFF, just ALLOW TSM to be able to write in that specific folder, and for that, just click the threat >> Actions >> Allow (Or whatever it appears in english). And that's it, you will not recieve that message ever again....

PD: One last thing, if by any chance it continues, try to change the Save folder permissions, try to add the user "ALL" or idk whats the name in english Windows for that kind of user, but you need some how to make that every user in your computer to be able to everything, not only the main User, the Adminitrator or whatver, you need to have ALL users if it keeps giving you trouble. (Basic Windows SySAdministration)

PD2: And sorry again, but I've never been interested in the game but today, so sorry for not being able to answer it earlier.
