The Sims Medieval not running from Steam

Hi there,

So I recently downloaded The Sims Medieval from steam after not playing it in some time (and never on this laptop, however it worked fine on my old lower spec laptop), and after install and running the first time setup through steam I cannot get even the launcher to come up however I can locate the program running in the background with the task manager. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program and deleted and redownloaded all the files already and am attempting to run it on Windows 10. Anyone have this issue or know a fix?
