THERE IS A FIX!!!! I bought this for my Mac 3 days ago. After some research, I found a workaround:
Change your computer's year to 2011 under system preferences, date and time. Start your game and it should work just fine 🙂 Quit game, change the date back, and you're good to go!!!!
