[The Sims Medieval] Sims Medieval crashes when I try to change the resolution

I'm trying to change from default to 16:9 aspect, and it's crashing no matter what, immidiately follwing the checkmark.  I've turned all other settings down to the minimum, or off, and it makes no difference.  I'm using Mac Lion, and I get this error message, asking me if I'd like to debug:

Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000000 at address 0x923fe23c.

I can't find any solutions to this anywhere.

Are you playing in fullscreen or in windowed mode? If it is fullscreen try windowed mode instead.

I've got this same problem and your suggested fix of running it in a window instead of full screen doesn't work for me.  It does switch to a window when I hit command return but when I switch the resolution and hit the checkmark, it crashes.

My error message has a slightly different address but otherwise I've got the exact same problem.

I've got an i7 27" iMac from late 2012 with 32gb of memory and the 2GB graphics card.  I'm running 10.8.4.

Please fix, I'd love to play this filling my screen at a higher resolution.  What I've played so far is pretty cool.

  • I've got the same problem. Mine crashes when I try to set a different resolution than the default, which is the very lowest (and not widescreen). To me this makes the game unplayable. I don't want the experience of playing on the equivalent of a monitor from 15 years ago. I'd also much rather play it in full-screen. Is anybody from EA going to let us know what's up with this? Is a fix in the works?
