This program cannot be executed (8016).

hello,

i need some help with the sims 2,

it says "A required security module cannot be activated. This program cannot be executed (8016)." every time i try to launch it.

i've seen a solution to this already (which is that i have to update my BIOs on windows 10) but i wonder if there is another solution to this without having to update my BIOs because i'm afraid to mess something up
