I have had two android tablets that had the 5002 error code for the sims free play and to suggest to "just turn off the navigation bar or change the resolution " is ridiculous. On all the cellphones and tablets I have owned, neither option exits because they are not PC's. I realize it's a free game guys,, but why can't there be a patch made to fix the problem? Patches are made for the other sims games, I don't understand why not this.
Hi meme1232012
Below you will find comments from players who have use the methods I've promoted earlier:
Hallo.
Today i had the "Server Error 5002" after i installed the game EA NBA JAM.
If you google or browse this forum you see that there are a lot of people with that problem. That's why i start an new topic.
EA offered a workaround (copying data from another device) but there were also some users who just changed the displayresolution.
Yesterday i installed a new NXT ROM (Android 4.0.4) with that navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.
I detected that this bar needs 10 pixels, so the resolution used by apps was only 480x844.
SOLUTION: When i disabled the bar, i had 480x854 and then i the Server Error 5002 did not accure anymore!

It was deceptively simple to sort out. I simply changed the screen resolution on the Vega from 120 to 160. Then I deleted the game and re-downloaded it. It checked for the missing data, and downloaded the update. It took a while to download the update, but the game is now working. I will post the information on the EA Forum site, for others to adjust the screen resolution their phones and tablets.

Here is also a copy of a message from the Firemonkey team:
An error with the 5002 code error indicates that unfortunately the resolution of your device is not currently supported. This can be most common if your device has had a firmware update, most commonly with UI changes that the manufacturer may include at their discretion.
If you are experiencing this problem, please ensure that both your device's firmware as well as the game version are up to date. If you still experience this error please let us know the following information so that we may pass this on to the development team:
1. What is the model number of your device?
2. Which version of Android is currently installed on your device?
3. Is your device rooted?
4. Which game is affected by this error?
5. Which version of the game do you have installed?
Thank you for your patience. Please note that we are not able to give an estimate of when this may be corrected for specific devices, as we are constantly working to include support for as many devices as possible for all of our games.
If you require further assistance regarding this issue with a purchased game (a title that is not free to download), please contact us at help@firemonkeys.com.au for further assistance. Thank you!
