Community Admin[FAQ] Pool Party Update
Get ready to make a splash and practice those dives at the biggest Pool Party in town with the latest update for The Sims FreePlay!
1. Where is the Swimming Center?
The lot for the Swimming Center can be found on the Town Map, next to the Town Hall.
2. How do I get a Sim to swim at the Swimming Center?
- Once the Swimming Center has been built in your town, tap on the Swimming Centericon to enter it.
- Once you’re in the Swimming Center, open the Simtracker.
- Tap on the Whistle icon to summon a Sim.
- Once your Sim has entered the Swimming Center, tap on the Pool and select Go Swimming.
3. Can I use the Kiddie Pool?
Toddlers can use the Kiddie Pool. Just remember not to leave them unsupervised!
4. How do I do the Diving Hobby?
- Bring the Sim that you want to practice the hobby to the Swimming Center.
- Tap on the Diving Board to select a diving action.
- Once the action has finished, the Sim will be waiting at the end of the Diving Board with an exclamation mark above their head.
- Tap on the exclamation mark and they’ll do a final dive that they will be judged on. Depending on the type of dive and its success, you’ll be rewarded with a Medal!
5. What happens if I collect all 12 Medals?
If you win all 12 Medals, you will unlock Diving Boards in the Home Store, which you can add to your Sim’s Swimming Pools so that they can practice diving at home.
6. How do I see my Sim’s Diving Level and how many Medals I have collected?
- To view your Sim's Diving Level, tap on the Hobby icon.
- To view your Medals, tap on the Diving Collection icon.
7. Where do I buy Swimsuits for my Sims?
Swimsuits can be purchased from the Fashion & Fancy Dress Shop. The lot where you can build this shop can be found on the Town Map next to the Children’s Store.
Note: This store was previously called The Costume Shop.
8. How do I purchase a swimsuit?
- Tap on the Fashion & Fancy Dress Shop to enter it.
- Select a Sim and then the Tick Button.
- You will then need to select the Swimsuit Tab. Now you can select from a range of swimsuits depending on the gender and age of the Sim.
9. I bought a swimsuit for my Sim, but they’re not wearing it. What happened?
By default, your Sim automatically changes into the swimsuit when they’re going for a Swim, having a shower, or taking a bath. When finished, they automatically change back into their normal clothes.
10. Can I make my Sim wear a swimsuit all the time?
Yes! You just need to tap on a Wardrobe (available from the bedroom tab in the Home Store) and select the action Change Into Swimsuit.
11. How do I get more swimsuits, like the Mankini?
- Tap on the Shopping Trolley icon to enter the Online Store.
- Select the Specials Tab
- Then tap on the Swimsuit Bundle to purchase it.
- After it has been purchased, those swimsuits will be available in the Swimsuit section of the Fashion & Fancy Dress Shop.
12. How do I add Swimming Pools to my Sim’s Homes?
You need to be LEVEL 20 or above to be able to add Swimming Pools via the Home Store.
- Go into the Home Store and select Pools.
- Tap on the grid (similar to adding/expanding a room) and drag until you reach the Pool size that you would like.
- If the shape outline is red, it cannot be created. If it’s yellow, construction is possible.
- Tap on the Green Tick Button to complete construction.
- You can change the shape of your pool by adding new pools to the existing pool. Again, check that the color of the outline is yellow to ensure that construction is possible.
13. Can I redecorate the Pool once it has been built?
Yes, you can change the Pool Interior, the Paving Pattern, as well as the size of the Pavers.
To change the Pool Interior:
- Tap on the Pool Interior icon in the Home Store.
- Select a new design and tap on the pool to apply the interior.
- Be sure to tap the Green Tick Button to confirm the purchase.
To change the design of the Pavers:
- Tap on the Pool Paving icon in the Home Store.
- Select a new design and tap on your Pool to confirm.
- Be sure to tap the Green Tick Button to purchase.
To change the width of the Pavers:
- Tap on the Paver Width icon in the Home Store.
- Choose the width and tap on the Pool to confirm.
- Don’t forget the Green Tick Button to purchase!
14. Can I add any accessories to the Pool?
Yes! Tap on the Pool Items icon in the Home Store. You can add a ladder, inflatable chairs, slides and even a volleyball net!
15. Is there anything else I can do to decorate the Pool area?
Yes! There are lots of new items in the Outdoor Decorations, Trees & Plants, & Outdoor Furniture sections of the Home Store.
Some of the items include deck chairs, tables and chair sets, towels and an Outdoor Bar where Sims can buy drinks to make them Inspired!
16. My Sims can’t leave the Pool. What do I do?
You need to add a ladder from the Pool Items section of the Home Store.
17. I purchased the Dolphin Pool Pack from the Online Store. Where do I find the items that I purchased?
- The Dolphin Slide and Inflatable Dolphin will be available in the Pool Items section of the Home Store.
- The Dolphin Beach Towels will be available in the Outdoor Furniture section of theHome Store.
18. I play the game on an iPad. Where do I find the Pool Construction and Accessories Tabs in the Home Store?
Tap on the Garden icon. You will see the Pool Tabs along the top of the Home Store.
