Love Is In The Air Stuck

So I got to the point in the quest where it tells you to keep being romantic until it says your dating but I did that before the quest did and I am now partners, now I'm stuck and can't move on in the quest. Is there any way to realize that I'm already past that point? I've tried restarting the game but it doesn't seem to work. Please help!
