The quests have to be completed in order. There should be a green number on your current task that will open a pull down menu to show you where the mall quest is in the queue. 

The sleepwear event will come back around again in a few months. I think this is the third time they have run the event and it usually takes doing more then one event to get all of the sleepwear. To help you prepare for the next sleepwear event go to this link. https://thegirlwhogames.wordpress.com
