sims free play on android latest update crashes game after loading

oh my, i'm already depressed and now i don't know what to do. my game was working fine (been playing it since 09/2014 much invested) until last night when the request was to purchase magazines for my teen sim. i noticed in the store menu i only had two tabs accessible "living room" which only highlighted the magazines and "inventory" all if my inventory was accessible. i feel sick thinking about what i may have lost and all the time and money i've invested. now not knowing what was wrong i decided to try updating my game (also the app was free when i downloaded it originally back in 9/2014 and i dont want to have to pay for the same app i downloaded for free) after the update, it installed. now when i attempt to get back to my game it seems as though it completes loading but then i get the "sims free play has stop working" error message and option to "report" or "end/stop". i'm almost drunken with sadness behind this. please help! please! i just want to get back to playing my game where i left off with no loss if at all possible.
