Two and a half sims quest, potion brewing hobby and pet feeding.

I cannot access the baby onesie event as it keeps saying the two and a half sims quest not complete and i have already done it. I am also only getting one option for the potion brewing hobby. My puppy never eats, how do i get him to eat? Please help
