[Concern] If there is a Maker Version there will never be a Maxis Version.

As someone who will most likely buy from the Marketplace for Maxis/Official content if it works with my theme/game playstyle, and who also will not buy Maker Content. I am concerned that if there is a "Maker" Version of something or something similar, it won't be considered being made at an EP level. Similar to why so many easy fixes are skipped by devs as there are existing mods for that.

Let's say more niche, but often asked for EP/Packs themes are being asked for such as Era/Fantasy/etc. but some "Makers" have some content out for that. But because they are not official (just officially approved), and not with features/gameplay—just will not be the same as a official content, and an EP/Pack. And in turn much feedback for new content will be brushed off.

Is anyone else concerned about that?

I don't worry about it. CC always did what Maxis refused to do (heterochromia, wearable bags, ... ).

EA will never refuse to get 100% of revenue share instead of 70% if the theme is popular.

I could buy Maker content if it's tattoos and piercings because I don't like the childish tattoos and oversized piercings made by Maxis. And also maybe Male CAS content. It will depend on the quality of the content.

With TS3 Store my goal was to collect all the official content, this time it will be about how this content can improve my game (significant gain only).

Right now the 12 Creator Kits, there is no significant gain for me so I didn't purchase them.

Yeah, I think for me too. I almost owned the entire store in Sims 3 (and had every pack) but Sims 4 I do not feel I need every pack, and only will get something I feel is a significant gain to my game/gameplay. Especially, if I am buying this carp 🐟 currency :P

But I worry about a lack of variety.

Repetitive content is the biggest issue of Daz3D Shop, the Published Artists are focused on popular themes (content with the most sales).

Yeah, I think that is why I haven't felt the need to own/have everything so much is repeat or tweaked version of existing content. Sometimes I think "oh, that kit has nice stuff" but then think, "but we basically already have a close version of that from other packs". It is easy to talk myself out of many kits that way.

  • As a Multi Timeline Vanilla player who likes most Kits & is happy for most of my Expansion packs except for the 2 broken ones; I have to say NO way for that Marketplace.  Yes, I will miss the different theme Kits & realize that the Wonderland, Tea Time & Yard Kits are the last.  I'll get over it.  I do so hope there won't be a locked-in-Marketplace Expansion Packs.  Otherwise, my Royalty & Legacy will be my last Expansion Pack.
