Re: Asking Sims to Move in

Hi @Ashifer,

I've moved your post to The Sims Mobile forums, it sounds like that's the game you are talking about, but let us know if I'm wrong.

When you start the game, your household has space for 2 active Sims. You can unlock two additional spaces - can you see the spaces with padlocks in the bottom of the screen?

You could marry your Sim and the NPC - the NPC would move in as a non-active Sim to your house. You can make them active later on when you have space.

Another option, if you have at least level 16, is retiring the other Sim. This will make that Sim inactive and free one of the spaces in the house for the NPC to move in.

Hope that's clear enough, but let us know if you have any more questions!
-Mai

When you move a NPC in your Sims Mobile home, how does it affect the way each party interacts with that Sim? Is that sim living a double interactive life, or is that sim only available to one party only? I need to know as one of my Sims is married with child to another player’s sim.

This answer confuses me b.c I have 3 playable sims since I unlocked that 3rd slot. The 4th is still locked however. I married my 2 initial sims & their spouses automatically moved in after but when I married the sim in the unlocked slot, her spouse did not move & it won't let me move him in. I have 8 rooms total & even moved all my older children out thinking this would allow me to move my 3rd sim's husband in but it did not. Why would I have to unlock the 4th slot if the husbands of the first 2 automatically moved in?

@Anonymous  I think you are confusing moved in versus active playable sim.  Anytime you marry an NPC sim they should automatically move into your household.  They are living in your household but they are not playable.  It doesn't matter how many bedrooms you have, etc.  I have 4 playable sims and 6 non-playable sims in my household and only 2 bedrooms.  There is also the option to "Move In" a sim (instead of marry), but this only works if you have an available slot for an additional playable sim.  Hope this answers your question.

  • Hi EA_Mal, do you know if accepting an invitation to move my Sim into another player's household will make me lose the outfit my Sim is wearing? She is wearing stuff from Izzy's. Like, will the outfit no longer be available to me for my future Sims to wear?

That is an excellent question. I look forward to reading the answer.

It will not.  I have accepted many invitations to move my Sim into another player's household and have never lost an Izzy outfit.  The other player will be allowed to continue to have their new Sim (your old sim) wear a "copy" of your Izzy outfit as long as they don't take it off.  If they ever remove the outfit that the transferred sim is wearing, they will lose the copy and be unable to regain it.

You will keep your Izzy outfit and be immediately able to put it on a new Sim.

Thanks so much for replying so quickly and with such a clear answer! After reading your reply, I accepted the invitation to move out my sim, and I still have my Izzy outfit. Thank you @BlueWizardRob!

There is no Move in option for NPCs. That is only for playable Sims that belong to other players.

Your playable Sim will have to marry Mason if you want him to move in to your household. This is what you need to do:

    1. Click on Flirty options.
    2. Complete the proposal event.
    3. After the engagement click on Here comes the wedding
    4. Mason will automatically move into your household right after the wedding. You will find him in the family portrait still as a NPC. Then you will be able to promote him to playable Sim when you have an empty Sim slot.

So I invited a Sim to move in; nothing so I looked her up and her owner hasn't played for 73 days so she'll not be coming I think.

So I invited another whose owner is active. She's been on twice but no move in.yet. So, questions. +

If a request to move in is rejected will I get a message or be left in limbo?

If I go ahead and promote someone else into my playable slot and sometime later my move in request is accepted what happens?

Do I get that move in but into a non playable slot or does the Sims owner get to keep her after accepting the move in request?

    Hi!

    1. If a request to move in is rejected will I get a message or be left in limbo?
I'm almost sure you'll get a message telling your request has been denied and you won't be able to request the same Sim to move in. Notice that move-in request expires around 5 days after the other player has received it.

    2. If I go ahead and promote someone else into my playable slot and sometime later my move in request is accepted what happens?

The Sim you have requested will leave their household as soon as the request is accepted. The other player will receive a retirement heirloom box and that Sim will appear as retired for them.
You'll get a message in your Inbox that says something like "Who is the new Sim in town?" when the other player accepts your request. This is a bit risky because you will have to retire a Sim in order to empty a playable Sim slot, and only then you should tap on the green button of this message.

To be honest, it is better to ask a player you know to move in their Sims. I have seen many requests are denied.

    OK, the request expires.

    That's really the important part.

As long as I don't fill my empty slot for 5 days

I don't run a risk of something unexpected

    happening.

Your note got cut off. I don't know where you were

headed at the end but I have the important point so thanks!  🙂

@tomb202 I have now edited the last sentence of my previous post.

It's five days from the moment the other player opens the game after you've sent your request. As I understand, the request won't expire if the other player is not active.
  • Noo sadly I have 3 married sims and only 1 sim had their spouse automatically move in as a npc

I bought 3 separate houses with 2 full rooms for each house and I cannot ask the spouse to move in for the 2 other characters

I took the advice and emptied a slot for an active character and tried to see if I could then move in the spouse. However then the option went away. There’s no longer and option to even ask the spouses to move in to an empty house.. the only person living there is the married spouse .. yeah there’s a problem idk what it is though

  • Hello, I lost two of my Sims from keeping them passive for too long and the only way I can bring them back was to marry them. (They both became NPCs) One of them isn’t supposed to get married to somebody and doesn’t make sense who I put him with, but I’m worried that if I divorced him he will leave again. Do you know what happens if NPC gets divorced???

  • How did you get 6 non-playable sims in your household? I have 2 playable and 2 non-playable, and if one of my playable tries to ask anyone else to move in it says there isn't room in the household.

  • Hi. My sim is married, but don't live together. Yet their relationship is level 8.

I have 2 sims living in different houses, neither can have someone move in.

    Please help

  • Hi I have a question 🙂 I have two active Sims and they are in a relationship together, it says that apparently they are married but I never got to propose. My two active Sims have 2 children together but I never got either Sim to propose so how are they married? Does it happen automatically when their relationship upgrades? Their relationship is now level 10. Can I only propose with active Sims to an NPC?

  • @Ilois4 Oohh yes i remember doing the proposal event thanks! 😅😊 I reached level 10 relationship status with my two Sims and it says husband and wife. Thanks 😊
