im not sure thats true, this time last year most of the gold badged lpayers were active, and mind the misspelling there but its not entirely wrong sometimes...

just because someone says they wont play it doesnt mean they wont because there is some perceived advantage. thats just the excuse they are going with now if in fact they do know they will lose after the first day. i believe everyone will make an appearance and it will be interesting to see which beginning strategy they go with this time. the last few servers project ttd were doing great but they didnt have a way to compare the teams against even strength competition and leader/ players. i dont think the sides are too uneven anymore it will be a lot closer and more exciting than ever before and i applaud project for taking the time and initiative to field a proper challenge to the current wcs regimen, the missing dynamic in this reasoning is everyone else, the regular folk with no chance at racing to middle alone and winning against project and what they decide to do.
project can and should field a team in every sector possible. focus only on alts in the enemy sector and stick to a tight tunnel from the first hour on. top poi server wide should be fluently donated as required to the top team. the wings on either side of main to reduce waves of FA and protect farms and a strong team 2 with many alts plugging holes along side to secure poi and aide in any needed poi transfers.
more often than not i see inactivity non participation and neutral indifference. the guidance and motivation for regular players to participate and see the effects they can have on the environment just dont exist in the current meta. any alliance can hinder and win battles against a top team.
if there was a way to turn this game into a time machine and stop it at a point where everyone is established and near even strengths right before a large war and then keep replaying those few days from start to finish. see if the outcome is the same and which tactics worked. the most exciting time in a server and it rarely if ever happens anymore. it would be cool if any alliance could come along gain control of 4 hubs while the top 2 teams were fighting and shoot the fort in one coordinated assault. if the ability to destroy the fort did not rely on collecting all poi securing the entire center and all hubs building up for weeks and collecting fallen sat codes. if debris fields fell regularly effecting the battlefields and enabled quick code collection giving more teams the ability to approach and steal the kill.
