If you are not in trust with you cannot ally with. Seems to help clean up a lot of gameplay since in game. chat and alliance forum is only when absolutely necessary.
I suggest any game you play imagine some type of information or access control through some social media sites you like as part of your rp experience. But an abstraction of the functionality to be applied to your world.
