name changes

They changed something - the stored changes from months or even over a year ago have now taken effect.

If you know the security info and have access to the email used you should be able to change again......

This was a feature that many players requested since this option was disabled a while ago. This has now been reestablished, your ingame name will now be matched to your Origin ID whenever you login.

Except "dead subs" magically had their names changed from a request they submitted 5 years ago. This triggered the sub to be removed since the code controlling the sub request is no longer valid. Instead of deleting the back log of name changes and forcing these players to submit a new request - access to sub was removed. Similar to the other ghost sub changes being performed continually (like magically losing the ability to upgrade or sell units for no reason).

The name changes are only taking effect when the account is logged into the next time. Dead subs should not be affected by this as long as the original account does not log into.

hmm, will look closer. I've noticed the accounts farming some now that you write this.
