Open links in new tab

Hi!

I do not know if someone has previously requested it but ...

Every time you click on a link in the forum, it opens the appropriate page on the same tab you're on (sometimes it shows you a message saying you're leaving Origin).

On many occasions after reading or reviewing the content of the link that I accessed I give a close tab to not have many open at a time. Oh surprise! I have lost the tab with the information of the forums that I always have open.

Therefore, would it be possible to add to the functionality of the forums that these links (internal and external) were opened in a new tab by clicking on the link?

In this way we would have the forum and its doubts on the one hand and the complementary information on another tab that can be closed quietly.

I have tried to click on the link by pressing the "command" key at the same time (it opens a new tab manually) but it does not work, it does not allow you to open the link in another tab.

Thank you!!
  • Yes, from the Leaving window works manual open in a new tab. http://prntscr.com/npf13p
But maybe will be better if you can open directly in a new tab or you don't need to close the additional Leaving window.

Too, we can use the click on the right button: http://prntscr.com/npf2um and select "Open in a new tab".

Thank you so much for your interest. ;-)

But is only a suggestion. O:-)
  • I agree - it is however unfortunate it is a setting of the forum software that EA would need to have changed.

Remembering to right click - or the alternative of not closing the external page tab - is something I forget frequently.

Even if you remember to right click that then still leaves another click to get to the external page. Doing it directly via the forum software would be much, much better. As stated already, i believe it is a setting EA would need to change and it would be across all of their forums. I'm not sure they'd want to do this, although it would benefit everyone not just those playing C&C and then using these forums.
  • What browser are you using? Most browser offer you the option to open a link in a new tab if you right click it. Mousewheel-clicking also works for me.

Not sure what can be done about the forum software to open these links automatically in new tabs.
  • Chrome, sorry
Versión 74.0.3729.157 (Build oficial) (64 bits)
My mouse don't have a physical wheel. :-( (magic mouse)
For open in new tab we use:
Open external link in a new window or tab

    Correction
If I clicked in a link like this with "command" key pressed, it open in new tab, right !
    https://help.ea.com/de-de/help/account/im-locked-out-of-my-ea-account/

But if I clicked in a link like follows don't open a new tab: http://prntscr.com/npedik
  • Yes, of course, it's something from the EA forums, not our favorite game, which only uses it to communicate better. ;-)
