We limited the alt usage in our alliances. But it is a concept that was deemed ok. Everybody used it. In the past agreements to not do certain things have proven to be difficult. Especially since there is no independent judge and no consequences from breaking rules.
To other groups out there who want to start the WCS: Lets open a channel for direct communication. Some still think its just a distraction and Schaffa will start anyways :-D. But when its apparent that they don't start we may be able to set up something that makes the world more interesting. Or also stuff to deal with the Christmas holidays if Envision does not find a solution for that.
And regarding all the Project destroys the game talks:
Has never been our intention. The goal when we founded this group was to build a team strong enough to not just be a strong opponent to Schaffa on the WCS, but with good chances to win. We are not stronger by a big margin. Its small, but it is there.
And just because Uncle/Koegy won't start, that does not mean all who played with them need to stop. If somebody wants to step up and build a new team, let us know. Also if we can help as in not accepting in more Schaffa players.
And regarding a general Alt solution: We're happy to take part in whatever helps to make the game better. Alts I fear need a game wide solution though. Just banning them alltogether in Project does not help the game. There are ideas to make pre-shooting unprofitable.
Loot reduction right now is too unspecific and does not cover all expoits. Simple fix would be to apply loot reduction also to base buildings, but change the way loot reduction applies to something that allows teamwork once again. Like inside you own alliance you get no loot reduction at all if the two accounts hitting are within 20% score range. So that way you can tackle bases without the fear of lootreduction again and small alts are out of the picture once again. Early game you can get alts into that 20% range probably, but the problem eliminates itself if you take away too much loot from your alt.
You could make it even more specific - that when 2 players hit a base the loot reduction would only kick in for the stronger player. So if a weaker player is helped by a few shots there is no reduction at all.
Quick example:
Player A: 30k score account
Player B: 28k score account
Player C: 26k score account
=> if player A fails to kill a base he can be helped by player B, but not by player C up to a certain degree of damage.
=> if player C fails to kill a base he can be helped by A and B without any reductions for player C.
That does not sound hard to implement for me and would bring back teamwork for killing bases, while cutting out alts almost all the way.
