- I don't know what system is used AWS, Azure or other but it is EA's responsibility to make those decisions not EE's.
The maintenance was not a game update in any way, it was work on the physical hardware. It wasn't EE's decision when or their responsibility to carry it out. The servers themselves are located in the UK, or were when I was last told. - its not AWS or Azure because they know how to do things properly, they should spend our money to move this amateur tin can set up to the cloud providers. I know for a fact that taking a service down for 24 hours over a period of 2 weeks is unacceptable, even for maintenance. Its not even a debate.

BTW - These are physical servers, that run the Virtual software. if you think that there are a few hundred physical servers, you don't understand IT. And, if they are running physical servers, shame, shame. Virtual environments allow for maintenance to run with no downtime. I do it all the time for 14 companies.
It is pathetic that we are down so much, and never get any credit for it.
I have no idea if the platform is AWS, Azure or any other, but if you don't understand that there is maintenance that requires a complete shutdown of the service, you don't know the world of IT.
These are not high availability systems where one service goes down and another is activated to reduce downtime.
Get started maintaining a database without stopping it while hundreds of users are accessing the service and modifying its data.
My intention in this case is only to see if the systems are working to play with my player again, I do not have to apologize to anyone, nor explain to anyone how IT maintenance is carried out on services that I do not know about and that I do not have to either. know. My role is that of a regular player. - BTW - These are physical servers, that run the Virtual software. if you think that there are a few hundred physical servers, you don't understand IT. - nefrontheoneRising NoviceLet's remember that these are maintenance operations, it is not an installation of a new version of the game.
They may be doing (on all machines involved in the game environment):
- Motherboard changes
- Memory changes
- Disc changes
- Power supply changes
- Network cable changes (ethernet and fiber optics)
- Installing operating system patches
- Database version update
- Installation of patches in databases
- Updating/replacing load balancing systems
- Installation of patches in load balancing systems
- Version update of web servers
- Installation of patches on web servers
- Etc.
And yes a final test to verify all are working fine, as complete as it is extensive to involve all modified parts.
These are tasks that seem to us to be done in "a few minutes" but with the number of machines involved they become many, many hours. Let's be patient, please. ;-) - nefrontheoneRising NoviceTiberian 55 again offline, sorry

You can write directly to @EE_kalyn about a compensation. @gamerdruid is a forum moderator, he don't have the ability to claim a compensation by himself."tokenting;c-2233827" wrote:

I think that the development team updates the maintenance planning they are carrying out is a great advance, so we know that they will need more time to complete their tasks.
I insist, no, I am not happy that they are delayed but I am happy to see that there is someone who cares about keeping us informed. - he also edited the original post, possibly to add some extra words to make it look better, jokers.
