You don't understand the role of moderator - it is very clear! A moderator moderates which means they make sure posts in forums aren't spam, are kept on topic and are legal (ie don't discuss illegal matters etc such as hacking). We are not elected, we are appointed.

We do our best to represent the players views but of course we're just one voice (each) amongst many. We do tell them to get it right and often point out bugs that aren't public in order to assist them in that task.

We do our best to act as a go between to alert EA and Envision of problems but at a weekend it is often difficult to reach them and also difficult for them to reach the right technical people. Time zone differences (EA in the US and Envision in Europe, servers in multiple zones including the UK) don't help with the process of correcting errors as they arise and sometimes they arise as hardware breaks down. Hardware breakdowns happen to us all, theirs effects many thousands not just one or two people.

EA, that 4 day outage was shameful; when I was able to contact anyone at customer service they were outsourced so that they had no idea what was going on or how to fix it on their end. Seriously? The West Coast USA was not able to log in for days and you had no idea of a problem? That is USA! And nothing from EA to help? Nothing. Nilch. Nada. Zero. Shameful, especially during the WCS start.
