At present EA (31 March 2024) are having internal connectivity issue - this is not related to your friend receiving a ban. We can't do anything about bans here in AHq he will have to engage with the help system directly.
He will have received a reason, even if he disagrees with it. The reasons are never shared with other players.
Just to be very clear - connectivity issues are on-going and not related to your friend receiving a ban.

I have been playing this game for a very long time and I never saw that kind EA behavior. I know the forum can't do anything about a ban, I just want to bring attention to it, it is not normal.
The answers homepage has been hinting at all kinds of connectivity issues.
And ddos attacks are up in the US.
So i am taking those points in to consideration when something comes up.
Btw.. Patch those linux machines if you haven't heard...😇
