What do you mean everyone will start from scratch?

As always, on the PTE, when it is reset, previous progress is deleted.  Any stored crates are kept but everything else is gone such as progress in terms of rank and position on the map.  Logging into the PTE after a refresh is almost the same as logging into a new world except the badge for the fortress is retained and the crates accumulated is retained.
