@OOtle5fit has always been the case when multiple reports come in of the same problem the threads are consolidated where possible. Sometimes, the time between the threads and them been seen by me, other moderators/champions and EA/EE staff means that consolidation can lead to confusing threads. At that point they are sometimes locked and a link put into the closed thread to the 'major' thread, the one we wish everyone to use. This hasn't happened in the AnswersHQ forum yet as it's still a newish forum for most.
I don't think any of that will happen as this is a different forum than the old and a different format.
For example there are no moderators only dev and ea titles. If the topics forked in to subs again there would be a (sub) moderator title maybe. Looking at classic message board platforms as a reference.
These forums are different.
Technically you are correct, there are no moderators here. However, the old moderators have extra 'rights' and can draw the attention of EA and EE staff to posts to get them merged or moved.

Merges, moves, locks,...
Platform features.
I did consider that when I put the idea forward. That the staff would likely prefer individual threads as with high volume they might be easier to browse/manage.....

There are not many problems being reported so a per topic thing like people prefer looks to be best.
