Game unplayable in Firefox and Chrome with all scripts disabled - Vet World 4

I have disabled all scripts and am getting this error upon trying to exit out of the base screen. Game halts. silence.ogg:1 GET https://prodgame07.alliances.commandandconquer.com/381/resource/qx/s...

Having the same problem with slow/no game play while everyone else is doing fine. My browser is questioning the https as being un-secure after system upgrade (Mac High Sierra update 10.13.1) Is this related?
