I have the same problem!
Playing NOD, woke up with new base GDI, all progress clear!
Why?
https://prnt.sc/_EqOH2MX6eLO - fake new base
https://prnt.sc/9t12_43654Vo - my original base
@Blast_RJIt appears that not only have you changed from NOD to GDI but the player name isn't the same.
Has your player name changed on other worlds too?
In both of these cases the player name looks like a system assigned name. Within the EA app you should be able to reuse the old names.

The error is likely due to EA team shenanigans. Some sort of out of season Aprils Fools joke i guess, 9 days lag sometimes happen on these old servers ran on potato in a GlaDOS style.
The backend servers data got erased in the last update for some reason and an old save from a week ago has been restored. So every data from between the 3 Avril and the 10 Avril has been erased. If your friend has created his account on this server in the past 7 days, then the server cannot find his base anymore as it doesn't exist anymore.
So, somehow, your friend gets control of someone else' base, for some Extremely Annoying reason.
I hope EA will restore the data they has erased with the last "update" (or shall i say.. downdate?) as i'll not grind every week to get all my data deleted every 10 days- 2 years ago
So I didn’t change the faction; upon entering world 62 it assigned itself! And I didn't change my nickname...
