Every time I boot up Titanfall on my Xbox 360, the textures and sounds in the game get completely messed up after 1 or 2 matches. The textures on everthing either don't load all the way or turn into pixelated garbage, and the sound cuts out completely and I only hear tiny chunks of voice clips and music throughout the entire match. I tried installing the game to my hard drive, but it won't let me. (not sure how much room I need to install it) I can take a picture of what it looks like or record a small clip of video if it helps. Help would be much appreciated 🙂

I too am having this issue. I had about 10hours in game before it happened for the first time (this morning). The EA support troubleshooting advice didn't solve the crazy texturing glitches, but did help with the audio fragmentation. Just like tracsys and johnnylung, I'm running a 1st gen xbox360 that was sent to me by Microsoft after my original died from Red Ring back in 2008.I checked the unit for excess heat right as i was able to replicate the problem in-game, and it was definitely not "overheated" by xbox360 standards (believe it or not, it may even have been cooler than usual. go figure!). when I load the game after I restart the console it "Optimizes HD Content", every time. Perhaps there is something corrupted in my "HD content" file that a rewrite isn't fixing.I'm able to dashboard once the in-game texture goes to hell and the 360 homescreen looks completely fine. Why would this be the case if the GPU was the problem? wouldn't I need to hard restart the console in order to reset the GPU as well?Hopefully this is just a software glitch that can be patched and not a hardware failure. Any and all help is much appreciated. I just want to play Titanfall! it kicks so much ass.Cheers,Brian

Dude Let me guess you got the glicth during the trainning mode? What I did was I deleted the player data don't worry your lv will be there just u will restart the trainning but don't complete it that's what I did and it worked fine

Drcphd, this is a prime example of EA/Respawn incompetence. This information exists on their website yet IT DOESN'T INSTALL IT. FOR ANYONE. ANYWHERE. My friends that don't have any issues don't have this mysterious 1.2gb installed either. Mandatory or not. It's a myth. A spectre, ya might say.

If they were going to ever fix the glitch, they would have fixed it by now. I feel like I've been scammed out of 60 bucks. As good as the game is, the glitch is unbearable and unbeatable, it will never be fixed, and I doubt the developers even care or are aware of this annoying glitch.

You can't install Titanfall completely on your hard drive, only the mandatory files and the HD content. I will provide you several workarounds, please accept as a solution if one of following steps helped you to solve this issue. If not, please respond that we can look for other possible solutions. To make sure that no corrupt data causing your issue, you should clear your cache: From the dashboard, click on My Xbox. Select System Settings. Select Storage. Highlight Hard Drive Device. Press Y to select Device Options, then Clear System Cache. Reboot your console. Redownload the updates for the game. NOTE: Not all games have a Title Update File. From the Dashboard, click on My Xbox. Select System Settings. Select Storage. Select Hard Drive Device by pressing A. Select Games and Apps. Select Game Title. Delete Title Update File. Restart Game. This matches my problem to a T. Including the static screen with the ships clear as day while everything is going haywire as well. That always struck me as odd. I was in an online chat with Xbox Support and he thought it could be a cable issue. I wonder if there is anyway to get a 1st gen 360 to export through a traditional HDMI cable and not an HD component cable? Anyone know?

I have a friend who is running a 1st Gen 360, has the same make and model TV, same make and model router and DOES NOT have the issue. He even brought his disk over to run on mine and we ran into the issue. So it isn't disk related.
The optimizing HD Content everytime is what strikes me as oddest. It's like the game sense something is wrong or corrupt and is trying to correct it. Having only "in-game" stuff be all wonky, and not the Xbox Dashboard or anything else outside the game not be all pixelated leads me to hope it can be fixed with that patch that was promised a week ago.
I am beginning to see a pattern that most people that have this issue are running 1st Gen 360s. So that's fun. It's probably part of a bigger conspiracy to get us to buy an XboxOne. Ha! (cries inside)

OK, EA Bastian, here is what I did.

Popped in a new HD. Clean, reformatted 60 gb. Started from scratch with everything. Removed any other components withing a 3ft radius. Put in Titanfall, downloaded update. It began "optimizing hd content." Changed options to 30hz. Started training, did not complete training. Played 2 games with no issue. Shut down.

Restarted, it did not say it was optimizing hd content for the first time ever. Hooray! Played 2 games, no problem. Shut down.

Restarted, it did not say it was optimizing hd content. 1/2 way through 1st game, everything went wonky and textures broke down. Shut down.

Restarted, it now said it was optimizing hd content, 1/2 way though the 1st game, everything broke down. Then I broke down, weeping uncontrollably.

I couldn't have started any cleaner. I really hoped it would have fixed it, but it didn't. I'm at a total loss now. Any ideas?

I tried these steps and Im still getting both the optimising HD content and through half a game before my titan drops acid. I think these pilots are being given too much LSD, perhaps reducing their LSD ration will make the rainbows go away?

Smooth, running good old fashioned HD component cables. 1stGens don't have a standard HDMI out. And there doesn't seem to be replacement cable. Best I found was a converter like this:

Hi,
I have the same problem on my original arcade model with a 20gb hard drive (5GB empty). It comes sometimes after 1 game and I can never go more than an hour without it popping up. Then I have to reload the HD assets, just like others here were saying.

heh so i see im not the only one . Im ruuning also on 1st gen x360 . Its optimizing hd content as well every restart , textures are crashing and audio is gone .
Please fix it with patch - i enjoy this game but restarting after every 2nd game is just stupid . No one wrote that this game wont be working as expected on 1st gen 360 so it should be working .
Additional thing - game is not installing on my 360 . Its not prompting me to do this . Maybe thats issue . Ive checked titanfall files and only 64 MB TU i got there . I heard urban legends that game should prompt to install about 1.5 gb files - i have 7gb free space
And last thing - ive tried already everything what was provided in this thread to fix it

Thanks for all your feedback. As mentioned before, could you guys please mention what kind of cable you use to connect your console to your TV and your exact model of your Xbox360. I will pass this information over to the studio.

Im using normal Original (grey) VGA HD AV Cable . usuing xbox 360 premium ( 20 GB hdd - so one of first )
