New level of harassment
Well, I had thought that people using exploits, mods and blatant cheating would be the extent of the poor oversight that has long plagued Titanfall. Much to my regret, I was wrong. For multiple reasons, I took a break from Titanfall for about 9 months last year. I returned around mid-October to be welcomed by the latest speed hack/SP combo. What a great joy that was. The only good thing was that it seemed that only a few people were employing this method of fair-play disruption (and being reported by multiple people on each occurrence). Although disappointing, those of us who have been around for a while knew it was best to just leave. Late November/early December, two new situations arose (at least, new to me).
1) Someone would join the server with the name of a legit player well-known by others, and running hacks, yet it wouldn't be the actual person. You could view the profile of said player and, for me, it would always bring up the same Origin ID, regardless of what the in-game name was. Interesting, so someone figured out a new way to ruin the game for people. Once during a match when this person joined (let's say the in-game name was Saccharin), after we determined it was the hacker, I immediately left the US server and switched to an EU server. Weirdly enough, the actual player to whom the in-game name Saccharin actually belonged was playing in this server. Name-stealing, even while the original person is logged on and in game.
2) There have been times in the past when someone in the party would go to leave and accidentally take the whole party out of the game. Annoying, but understandable. Upon my return to Titanfall, this happened a few times and I initially thought nothing of it...not until I noticed what was actually happening. Turns out, the same person responsible for the activity above was joining up with the "party" just for the sole purpose of removing the party from the game. Confusion ran amuck, even more so when the culprit could not be identified per anyone's Friend List. This has happened many times, even when I have been solo in a game. Knowing who the culprit was, by Origin ID, I verified that this person was not on my friends list and went one step further to block this person in Origin. Much to my chagrin, apparently this person has been able to (admittedly) hack the servers (of which he/she has claimed ownership) and is able to party up with me at will (even while invisible), kick me from servers, and then verbally harass/threaten me.
There you go.
So, now what?
Based on the fact that this person has been reported multiple times and the level of intrusion/disruption is becoming worse (especially with me being singled out), I'm left with 2 possible conclusions:
1. This person's hacking abilities allow access so as to interfere with the reporting process, thereby preventing EA from being made aware and taking any action;
or
2. EA is aware and not taking any action, thereby condoning the absolute atrocious activity perpetrated by this person.
I guess I will just have to wait and see.
I'll know for sure if I log on one day to see that I've been removed from Titanfall as I was threatened.
Thank you for the detailed post, obviously something like this is unacceptable and we will look into any action we can take from our end.
I've sent you a DM and I may send some more if I get any requests for sensitive info that may help with looking into this.
