[PC] - 85-90% CPU Usage In-Game

Hello!

I've been having this issue for a while now and it's honestly making the game completely unplayable for me. Usually around 1-2 minutes into a match (when more Grunts/Specters start dropping), the games CPU usage spikes to 85-90% and then doesn't go back down until I restart my game. I run the game on all low/disabled, except Texture Quality which is set to Very High. In the single player I can run the game max settings with absolutely no issues at 80+ FPS at all times, but in the multiplayer I have an extremely variable framerate (goes from 150 down to 80 and back up every few seconds, making aiming basically impossible). This also causes an issue where it feels like my sensitivity has been lowered dramatically, making me have to drag my mouse way more than I should have to.

Specs:

i5 4670k @ 4.5GHz 1.25v (I've tried setting it to stock, didn't help. Thermals are fine as well, maxing out at 65c).

MSI Z97S Krait Edition

Kingston HyperX 16GB DDR3 @ 1866MHz

GIGABYTE G1 GTX 970 @ Stock

Windows 10 Pro 64bit

The game is installed on a 3TB 7200RPM Seagate HDD (I've tried moving it to my main SSD, didn't help) and my OS is installed on a 128GB ADATA SSD.

I don't have this issue in any other games, including other demanding Source titles. I've tried verifying the game files, reinstalling the game, reinstalling Origin, disabling the Origin overlay, even reinstalling Windows but I still have the same issue.

In my NVIDIA control panel, I have:

Maximum Prerendered Frames set to 1

Single Display Performance Mode

Maximum Performance Power Mode

I have my Windows power management set to Maximum Performance and all of my CPU cores unparked. I have attached my DXDiag, and I would really appreciate any help I can get. This is really ruining the game for me. I had the same issue before I installed Virtual Audio Cable as well (it only uses 1-2% of my CPU anyway).

    Hello @SpockBlock

Sorry for all the troubles with connection. Do you have, by any chance MSI Afterburner installed? Can you try to disable Origin in-game for Titanfall 2?

Keep me posted on your progress.

    Cheers,

    Archi

  • Afterburner is not installed, and I have the Origin overlay disabled.

@SpockBlock if u use some broadcasting (i see in log Mumble Overlay Soft) or overlay software, it is may case such problem... Try to play without it...

  • I just recently installed Mumble, had the same issue beforehand. Having Mumble didn't make it any worse.
