[PC] Finishing download at 41%, VC++ error, setup can't continue

Hello,

When I download Titanfall 2, it stops at 41% and says the game has been downloaded (even though it hasn't). Relaunching Origin changes nothing, I still see the game as fully downloaded. When I click on install, I get a pop up saying there was a redist error with VC++ (1638) and the setup can't continue. I've tried to re-download it 5 times already, and each time, before the download even begins, origin says the game is playable at 41%.

I've looked everywhere and did everything but nothing worked so far :

  • Run as administrator / Boot in safe mode.
  • There is no repair option even tough I have the redist files in my titanfall 2 folder (Yes, i know where the option is, I can see it on my other games.)
  • Clean all origin cache files (ProgramData and AppData).
  • Renaming and switching redist folders.
  • Also I didn't Repair the files, I uninstalled them and installed them again, when I used the repair option it didn't work

For the VC files that is

  • Brows to where the game is installed ( C/origin/titanfall2 ) look for the file " _Installer", open it. then open "vc", there are 2 files go into the 2010 one 1st, then into "redist" then run the .exe, when done go back 2 to the "vc" file and do the same with the 2012update4 file. Restart you system and start origin, you will need to click install and it will install BUT then you need to right click the Titanfall icon in the "game library" and pick "game update" to download the rest of the game. This worked for me when I had the same problem. Good luck 🙂

Sadly, I don't see this option when I right click on it while or after the install.

EDIT: Restarted Origin and after clicking Update button it started downloading

    Thank you for your help.
