[PC] Titanfall Multiplayer: Troubles Connecting and Partying Up (Fixed)
(Fixed! Uninstalling Hamachi worked wonders)
Hey there.
Like many others, I'm struggling to connect to multiplayer, as I'm walled off at the main menu while the game tries to find a data center and/or contact respawn servers. I've attempted the widely accepted workaround of disabling all network adapters I'm not currently using. I'm not sure if the workaround had anything to do with it, but I've discovered that I could enter multiplayer with a bit of patience.
If I let the game sit there for roughly 5 to 15 minutes, a data center is eventually found, and respawn servers are allegedly contacted (they don't sort themselves out at the same time, there's a bit of a time gap), allowing me to hit the multiplayer button on the main menu. And it works!
So I'm in! That's great. Matchmaking works just fine and the game is a blast. Shame I have to sit there awhile. I've experienced no connection issues in game. Problems arise when I try to play with a friend. If I hit "invite friends" from the multiplayer menu, nothing appears to happen. I of course mash it in frustration to no avail. Interestingly enough, the Origin overlay will pop up displaying potential friends to invite something around 15 minutes later, while I'm in game and had given up on playing with friends.
So I experimented a bit. Neither myself nor my friend (Everything works fine on his end) can see one another's game invites when we send them. We formed our own in-game "network", which has the feature of allowing a player to send a blanket game invite to all others within your network. When my friend sends the invite an in-game pop up appears, featuring a confirmation button that doesn't seem to do much but beep happily as I press it. My friend has been able to join my matchmaking party by using the Origin overlay's friends list. However he doesn't appear to join matchmaking with me, and I'm put into games while he sits in the menus, dissolving the party.
I'm sure I could have phrased things better, but I'm at a bit of a loss here. Just hoping that some kind soul had some insight as to what could be going on, as I'm rather technologically illiterate.
