[PS4 Pro] Infinite loading after tutorial in campaign mode

Hello there!

I can complete the tutorial but after the cut-scene (summoning my first titan in the sim, back to reality, they told me to stand up and gave me a weapon) I'm stuck in the loading screen.

I can play multiplayers with no problem. I can replay the campaign's tutorial too but everytime I get stuck on that infinite loading screen.

What I've tried:

- New save

- Deleted the game, reboot, reinstalled the game (digital download, and yes each time I triple checked that all was downloaded)

- Deactivated the network

- Even done a fresh install of the system (replaced my hdd with an ssd)

I don't know what else I can do.

Please Obiwan, you're my only hope!

  • Hello David!

I feared also for a hardware issue but all my other games (Battlefield 1, Horizon Zero Dawn, Nioh, Bloodborne, The Witcher 3, etc.) works fine so I investigated further aaaannnnd.....I ended up to do a new fresh install on the SSD AND the stock HDD. Then I installed only Titanfall 2 on both. Turns out I CAN FINALY PLAY with the stock HDD but the infinite loading screen still occure on the SSD and I have no clue why.

I mean, if the SSD had a hardware failure, all my games should have issues too. But only TF2 and only when starting the first campaign mission, that's really odd.

At this point I'm keeping the stock HDD. I'll only miss the loading time from SSD, not a very big deal but I'm curious of that bug. If there is a way to output a debug log or something to give to the Dev Team I'm your man.

In the meantime, time to PLAY this great game!

@Kawoooooo Thank you for the detailed post. You've taken the main troubleshooting steps, so I fear that it's a hardware issue.

As a long shot you could try creating a new account and use this to get through the tutorial, and see if this has any effect? Perhaps there's some odd issue with your account and how its saves are interacting with the game.

If this has no effect I think reaching out to Playstation support is the way forward

They can look into things and can hopefully determine if this is hardware-related.

Thank you for the extra info, it's good that you found the source of the issue. Thanks for the offer of the logs too, if there's any call for such we'll PM you.

Any update if this issue will be fixed?  Or are people who have PS4 using SSD out of luck in playing?

    Thanks
