Is there any reason behind this?
I love playing games off my hard drive, especially when my roomate is trying to sleep. The disk spinning in my xbox 360 elite is super loud, started playing COD off my hard drive again last night because it was too much.

I am sorry but I have no additional information for you, it is still common practice especially for the old generation console. For all future updates and news, keep an eye on our AHQ sticky section and the official Respawn forum.
Cheers

Actually its not common practice, every game I have ever owned for the xbox 360 has an install to hard drive option except titanfall, is this something ea can patch or make available?

Its also not acceptable either, since installing the game on your hard drive is used to keep your disc drive from failing and xbox 360 from red ringing from the heat. It needs to be fixed and made availble to install to the hard drive via patch.
- The install option isn't present because Titanfall on the 360 utilizes texture streaming. To maximize throughput, it pulls both from the disc and the hard drive simultaneously. If you install the disc image to the drive, then the game would be attempting to read both sets of data from the hard drive at the same time, and degraded performance would result.

The same situation hapened with gta5, and it was solved by installing the game on an external Flash Drive.
We really need some solution for this problem, because the CD reader over-heats the console and will eventually cause a Red Ring of Death.
- RROD hasn't been a real issue since the introduction of the jasper chipset. (2008/2009)
Even then, wasn't the RROD was caused by the board heating up enough to warp and pop the solder? I doubt that a DVD drive can even generate that much heat. - ApprovedAnonymous12 years ago
The RROD has not been an issue since 2007. I have had my 360 since 2005, it been updated and all is well. The real issue here is the noise from the drive running. Also the more the drive runs, the sooner it will need to be replaced. Some of us have very old machines. Now, I think it is technically impossible for them to make it install, otherwise they would have. Welcome to online gaming in 2014 on an 9 year old console.
FWIW, it installs on my XBONE. And they have done such a fine job with the port playing it on the 360 is probably 98% as good as playing it on an XBONE. C'mon guys, this has been answered, let's move on here.

why is that there is no option to install even bf4 has it.there should be no matter what

xbox added the install option for all games to be installed to preform better and disc drive be not so loud even with the new slim it gets loud.i understand the gta 5 reason why not to install but they still had the option to so titanfall should still have the option to.
That's the point. It won't perform better, it will perform worse. The difference here is, that in the past the only way you knew this was if you followed the developer via the internet. In this case, Respawn was proactive and took measures to ensure that people wouldn't make the mistake of installing it to the HDD and suffering a negative performance impact.

This is exactly what they want, "buy more microsoft" by not allowing us to install this game (like every other game on the 360) the amount of time spent on fps's can end in disk drive failure, (something that has happened to me at least 5 times prior), where the console will no longer read disks and force you to either upgrade to XBONE or purchase another 360 keeping the funds rolling in for the MS family,(looking at the PS4 even harder now, looks good). Fact is this game is a lot of fun but is 90% hype and will eventually TitanFAIL, what a waste of $60.00 guess its back to BF4 and Ghosts.
