Titanfall 2 Campaign mode sprint not working

I'm very early on in the campaign and am in some kind of sewer system, BT has just split up with me, and I'm working my way through various tunnels to meet up with him again. Only problem is, I can't...

    restarting the level worked for me, bit of a pain but at least i can now run

In some cases the gamestate (and save of that gamestate) can have something go wrong. This can have some weird effects like disabling sprinting or preventing  certain wallruns. 

Fortunately loading into the game from the Mission Select menu should bypass this, it'll load the game from a default state, and you should be able to catch up to where you were fairly quickly.
