Titanfall 2 launches then closes on Steam

Ever since I got a new PC with Windows 11 I am unable to start Titanfall 2 (Steam version).

Experienced:

- After launching Titanfall 2 in Steam, the EA app opens and closes

- If I keep the EA app open before launching, the app closes itself then reopens

Troubleshooting steps:

- Uninstalled both Titanfall 2 and the EA app using REVO uninstaller PRO (which removed every temporary files, cache, registry entries)

- Applied "Run this program as an administrator" for all .exe files in the EA Desktop folder

- Under Services, changed Properties for EABackgroundService to Startup type: Automatic. Did this because Event Viewer showed "The service is marked as an interactive service. However, the system is configured to not allow interactive services." after a launch attempt.

- After this I got no crash info in the Event Viewer

- Also did most of your usual suggestions:

  • EA App's Cache (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery) - Done with REVO uninstall, but did it anyway, both manually and using Help > App recovery - no change
  • Connection and Advance Connection Guides - I don't experience any connection issues
  • Check for other applications that may be limiting EA App or Game performance - Using only Windows default firewall settings, EA app is allowed through
  • Run the System File Checker tool then Check for Windows and GPU updates - Everything is up to date
  • Check Drivers, Default to High-Performance GPU: Troubleshooting Graphics issues - I had the same error right after assembling my PC and installing AMD software, so I skipped this
  • Install/Repair your VC++ files for your game (Microsoft VC++ Link) - Done both from Titanfall 2 folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Titanfall2\__Installer\vc
  • Restart your device in Clean Boot mode, then just try running the client and game - This one caused Steam and EA app to fail on launch

- Copied the Titanfall 2 folder from the Steam library to the EA Games folder

- Although I just installed it, I did Verify integrity of game files in Steam.

- Did the System File Check (DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth)

  • Hi,

I'm having a similar issue to several posts on here that seem to just end without resolution. My copy of Titanfall 2 from Steam will not run on my PC.

    Specs

    Windows 11

    AMD ryzen 9

    Nvidia 2070 GPU

    32 GB DDR4 RAM

    M.2 NVME C drive

I've tried all the fixes that have been demonstrated in other posts but none of them work.

    1. Reinstalling the game, reinstalling EA app, Reinstalling the game on C drive
    2. Clearing EA app cache
    3. Revo uninstalling both apps
    4. Clean booting my PC
    5. Using admin privileges to run both EA app and Titanfall
    6. Giving Titanfall full security rights
    7. Running the system checker tool
    8. Updating drivers and V++ files

The general consensus from several posts is that this is an EA app issue with windows 11. is there any fix that anyone has found to get this to work?

  • I recently bought Titanfall 2 on steam but whenever I try to play it it doesn't open the game.
It says its running but then it show an EA loading screen from the app then it closes it and opens the EA app.
I have no idea on how to fix it and this seemed like one of my only options.
If this has happened to anyone and you managed to fix the issue please tell me on how to fix it.

    Thank you.
