Titanfall 2 launches then closes on Steam
Ever since I got a new PC with Windows 11 I am unable to start Titanfall 2 (Steam version).
Experienced:
- After launching Titanfall 2 in Steam, the EA app opens and closes
- If I keep the EA app open before launching, the app closes itself then reopens
Troubleshooting steps:
- Uninstalled both Titanfall 2 and the EA app using REVO uninstaller PRO (which removed every temporary files, cache, registry entries)
- Applied "Run this program as an administrator" for all .exe files in the EA Desktop folder
- Under Services, changed Properties for EABackgroundService to Startup type: Automatic. Did this because Event Viewer showed "The service is marked as an interactive service. However, the system is configured to not allow interactive services." after a launch attempt.
- After this I got no crash info in the Event Viewer
- Also did most of your usual suggestions:
- EA App's Cache (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery) - Done with REVO uninstall, but did it anyway, both manually and using Help > App recovery - no change
- Connection and Advance Connection Guides - I don't experience any connection issues
- Check for other applications that may be limiting EA App or Game performance - Using only Windows default firewall settings, EA app is allowed through
- Run the System File Checker tool then Check for Windows and GPU updates - Everything is up to date
- Check Drivers, Default to High-Performance GPU: Troubleshooting Graphics issues - I had the same error right after assembling my PC and installing AMD software, so I skipped this
- Install/Repair your VC++ files for your game (Microsoft VC++ Link) - Done both from Titanfall 2 folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Titanfall2\__Installer\vc
- Restart your device in Clean Boot mode, then just try running the client and game - This one caused Steam and EA app to fail on launch
- Copied the Titanfall 2 folder from the Steam library to the EA Games folder
- Although I just installed it, I did Verify integrity of game files in Steam.
- Did the System File Check (DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth)
