titanfall cant connect if graphic is set to very high

Hi,

when i set the graphic to very high, i can connect to the game as usual, but at the start it says something like: failed to connect to servers retrying... and than it crashes to the main menu.

On insane it even freezes my entire PC, only option is force shutdown (granted i dont have a 3GB Gra card, but this shouldnt be an requirement on a 10 year old engine anyway)

On high it runs as it should, but thats kinda an insult with a pc which can run AC4 and Crysis 3 on quite high settings without  problems.

Nvidia 660ti

phenom 2 x6

4gb ram

win 7

A Geforce 660 Ti is most certainly *NOT* a GTX 680, high end nVIDIA GPU.  It is a mid-High, and thus, a couple of large notches below the high end for its generation.  I can imagine that choosing too high of a game setting can do what happened to you, and probably other anomalous behaviors.

  • I am having a similar issue, setting ALL other graphic settings on the highest setting works, aslong as Texture quality is NOT on Insane. Texture quality from Low - Very High works for me.

With 6950 2GB in CFX, setting everything on the highest shouldn't be a problem, but evidently it is.

Right.  There were only two faster GPUs from AMD that year (6970, 6990).

  • i know what my card is, and what it isnt. It is a card which can run BF3 on Ultra (!) with 45 fps constantly. It runs AC4 on highest settings (except AA) and Crysis 3 on high. This game has a 10 year old engine, even on the highest settings it should run in like 200 fps. I would say its just awefully optimized, but googling the issue, many people have the same problem with much better hardware.

edit: And it doesnt explain why the connection to the server is lost. That has nothing to do with the graphics card.

  • I'm experiencing exactly the same issue as you. I have GTX 680 and I can't even set the textures to very high, because if I do, I get disconnected from the server as soon as I load into a match. If the textures are set to insane, my computer freezes during the map loading screen (is that why they are called like that?). The textures on high look bloody aweful to be honest, but from what I've seen, they don't look much better on insane. Makes one wonder why 3 GB of VRAM are needed for them...
