Titanfall error "The Origin desktop aplication is not loaded"

I bought the deluxe edition recently, got this error message after I launched the game. It would go through the EA logo and the Respawn Entertainment logo screens, then it would enter loading screen with "respawn entertainment" at the bottom and a loading circle at the bottom right. The circle would rotate a few times and then it would freeze, my screen would then black out and the error message "Error a0020000]The Origin desktop aplication is not loaded" would show up. 

I've searched around for solutions to this (seemingly very common) problem but didnt find any hard solution. Here are things I tried based on what i found.

1) repaired the game

2) uninstalled origin and redownloaded/reinstalled it from origin website

3) allowed titanfall through my firewall

4) disabled my firewall and antivirus program (AVG free edition)

5) restarted in clea boot mode and tried launching titanfall again as administrator

None of the above worked. I then uninstalled titanfall, redownloaded it, reinstalled it, and tried all of the above again. It still doesn't work, the same error persists.

what should I do? A little frustrated.
