The only solution I have found is to keep power cycling(turn off and on again) your console until it makes a connection. It may take a few tries but it worked for me. hopefully someone will come up with a better solution. I hope it works for you.
power cycling is not working at all.

Opened ports 53 & 3074 and I am back in. Yeah!
NOW I AM OUT AGAIN! SO THESE PORTS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PROBLEM EA OR XBOX LIVE IS HAVING. AGAIN NO SOLUTIONS!

Any troubelshooting steps you've taken: Reset router, port forward, Power thru reset, cleaned cache, reset modem... It happened the same day Xbox live had matchmaking issues but they are back and running
