You can try to delete your game data in order to re-install and update the game.
- From the Dashboard, click on My Xbox.
- Select System Settings.
- Select Storage.
- Select Hard Drive Device by pressing A.
- Select Games and Apps.
- Select Game Title.
- Delete the Game Data.
- Restart Game.
Cheers

Tried it didn't work. Checked router, all ok. port is 3074 which is fine. Cleared cache in storage. Any other garden paths?
Will I lose my player profile data if I do this?

Make sure you delete game data, and not save data and you should be fine.
Also, can I check that you have a HDD (and not just external flash storage) as this is needed for the install.
Past this, please contact MS support, they can assist with install issues: http://support.xbox.com/en-us - Anonymous12 years ago
What im wondering David, is if we did this, would we lose our rank and unlocks on that accout? Thanks.
The only data saved on my hardrive was the user data and an update. I copied the user data and deleted everything on my HDD and tried putting the disc back in. It did not work. I already contacted microsoft support and they said to do the same thing. What do I do now? Is there a problem with the game disc?

Perhaps check for any pending or active downloads you have running, and disable them. Maybe these are preventing the automatic prompt to install the HD content.
foebiaa, I don't think progress would be lost.

Thank you David.

I also never got prompted for the 1.2 gb install. And I'm getting the "Client Desynch" message often.
No downloads at all in my queue. Any more ideas? Could it be a physical defect in the game disc?
